About Us
The Public Peace and Development Foundation (PPDF) is a dedicated non-governmental organization committed to fostering peace, development, and social upliftment. Registered under the Jammu and Kashmir Societies Registration Act, VI of 1998 (1941 A.D.), vide Registration No: 954-S of 2015, PPDF has established itself as a beacon of hope for marginalized and underserved communities. Additionally, the organization is registered under NGO Darpan, NITI Aayog, with Unique ID: JK/2017/0150566, reflecting its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Our journey began as a Youth Club affiliated with Nehru Yuva Kendra Poonch, focusing on the welfare of people affected by the Line of Control (LOC) conflicts. Over time, we expanded our mission to include a broader spectrum of developmental activities, targeting the socio-economic upliftment of communities in remote and border areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Our Mission
At PPDF, we aim to:
- Promote sustainable development and skill-building initiatives for youth, particularly those living below the poverty line in remote and conflict-affected regions.
- Focussed on Tribal people especially in the sectors of Health, Education and Livlihood.
- Enhance educational opportunities for individuals deprived of basic learning due to cross-border conflicts and socio-economic barriers.
- Empower marginalized communities by creating pathways for economic development and improving living standards.
- Advocate for peace and reconciliation among LOC-affected populations, fostering harmony and understanding.
OUR KEY PROJECTS : FUNDED BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
Aashiyana Senior Citizen Home, Reasi
The Aashiyana Senior Citizen Home in Reasi, sponsored and funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, provides a nurturing and supportive environment for senior citizens. With state-of-the-art facilities and compassionate care, we aim to ensure the dignity, comfort, and well-being of our elderly residents.
Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home, Rajouri
Similar to our Reasi initiative, the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home in Rajouri caters to the needs of senior citizens, offering them a safe and peaceful haven. This project reflects our commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by the elderly, ensuring their golden years are lived with respect and security.
Our Impact
The Public Peace and Development Foundation has consistently worked to alleviate the struggles of LOC-affected populations, who have faced decades of cross-firing, shelling, and socio-economic challenges. By focusing on:
- Youth empowerment through skill development and awareness programs.
- Educational support to bridge gaps in learning caused by prolonged conflict.
- Health, Education and Livlihood Support to the Tribal People.
